What is V2Ray VLESS?
V2Ray VLESS is a lightweight transmission protocol with more flexible encryption options and UUID authentication without requiring alterId. Unlike other protocols, V2Ray VLESS does not depend on system time synchronization, making it ideal for various applications and providing reliable performance.
Security & Privacy Features
Lightweight Protocol: V2Ray VLESS provides minimal overhead with enhanced performance and reduced connection latency.
Advanced Encryption: TLS encryption with flexible security options for better data protection.
No Time Dependency: V2Ray VLESS does not depend on system time synchronization for reliable connections.
Global Access: Infrastructure with worldwide server locations for better connectivity.
Features of V2Ray VLESS
- Lightweight transmission protocol with flexible encryption options
- Uses UUID for authentication without requiring alterId
- Supports diversion fallback based on the first packet length
- Compatible with TCP, WebSocket, HTTP/2, QUIC, and more
- Works best with TLS encrypted channel for maximum security
- Cross-platform support (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android)
Using V2Ray VLESS Safely
VLESS itself is not encrypted, so the safest way to use VLESS is over a TLS encrypted channel. The minimum version of V2Ray-Core that supports VLESS is v4.27+. Both server and client should be kept updated to the latest version for best performance and security.
VLESS supports diversion fallback based on the length of the first packet, which can forward the length <18, authentication failure, or invalid protocol to a specified address. Note that fallback is only applicable in TCP mode.
tips_and_updates VLESS vs. VMESS
- VLESS is lighter and potentially faster than VMESS
- VLESS doesn't require system time synchronization
- VLESS uses UUID for authentication without alterId
- VLESS offers more flexible encryption options
- VLESS works better with low-latency connections
