How it works:

Our ping tool sends ICMP echo requests to the target host and measures the response time. Lower response times indicate better connectivity.

help_outline Understanding Ping Results

What is Ping?

Ping (Packet Internet Groper) is a network utility used to test the reachability of a host on an Internet Protocol (IP) network. It measures the round-trip time for messages sent from the originating host to a destination computer.

Interpreting Results

  • check_circle
    Fast Response (<50ms): Excellent connection
  • check_circle
    Normal Response (50-150ms): Good connection
  • warning
    Slow Response (150-300ms): Fair connection
  • error
    Very Slow (>300ms): Poor connection

Common Ping Issues

  • error Request timeout - Host unreachable or firewall blocking
  • error Host not found - DNS resolution failed
  • error Packet loss - Network congestion or hardware issues
  • warning High latency - Distance, routing, or network congestion

Pro Tip:

For accurate results, run multiple ping tests at different times of the day to account for network variations.
